Lindsey returned to the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Georgia where he continued to practice before the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Georgia for three years while holding the Public Defender's Office from 1991 to 1994. In 1994, Rep. Lindsey served as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia for two years. After serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, Rep. Lindsey served as an Assistant Principal Associate Deputy U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia from 1992 to 1995. In 1992, Rep. Lindsey assisted Justice Alito on the U.S. Supreme Court of Appeals, in the landmark Fisher vs. University of Texas at Austin Board of Regents (2003). Rep. Lindsey served as a law clerk to Justice Alito on the U.S. Supreme Court, from July 1991 to April 1994.
